Ron van der Ende’s work in bas relief is astounding. Each of the flat pieces takes on a three dimensional appearance while exhibiting van der Ende’s pieced-together painting style. The subjects are often physical representations of obsolescence and it makes sense that they are created using reclaimed timber.

The way that the newsprint contracted from the moisture of the paint also gives the pieces an attractive texture.

New York’s subway riders will be treated to printed selections from the Museum of Modern Art’s collection from February 10th to March 15th. The prints will be displayed in the place of advertisements in Brooklyn’s Atlantic Avenue/Pacific Street subway station. It looks to be an inspiring addition to everyone’s daily commute.

I’m a huge fan of Kofie’s illustration style. It’s obvious that he has a background in graffiti when you look at his line quality and the way he adds highlights to shapes. It looks like there’s some new work coming out that demonstrates the same style using 3-dimensional objects.

I know that there are a ton of social image bookmarking sites on the web, but Dropular appeals to me more than any that I’ve seen. The overall design is minimal and clean, and there are several really nice UI features. The ability to drop an image into your pool without up/downloading anything or losing your place on a particular site is wonderful. Also, the arrow-key navigation is genius. They’re using a javascript that allows the user to jump from post to post and page to page smoothly using only the arrows on your keyboard, which saves my wrist from a world of hurt when I’m using the trackpad on my laptop at home.

I don’t have much in my image pool right now, but you can view my drops here.
