Documentary Double-Feature
I recently heard about two films that I’m pretty excited about, the first is Objectified a documentary about Industrial Design. The film, due in early 2009, will feature interviews with a slew of designers and their creative processes. I’m most interested in the work of Dieter Rams.
The second film that I want to talk about is completely unrelated to the first, but it seems to be equally interesting. The synopsis on the film website is excessively descriptive, but what I managed to take from it is that Died Young, Stayed Pretty is about people who make rock posters and their description of “the spotty underbelly of western civilization”. Hopefully, this film will focus on process and style and won’t become a platform for the artists’ respective agendas. I’m looking forward to seeing what Art Chantry brings to the table.
