Richard Nicholson created a photographic survey of a nearly-extinct artistic tool, the darkroom. With the use of film drawing to a close, these rooms are becoming an oddity. Each one has its own personality and energy. It’s a bit sad to know that these rooms are rapidly becoming antiquated.

Kalle Gustaffson’s photography has a definite mid-century aesthetic. The make-up, fashion, and washed out, noisy colors are reminiscent of magazines from the 60’s. Also, the portfolio site design is pleasantly minimal.

Boogie has a portfolio full of powerful and emotionally charged images. He is well-traveled, and has managed to find desperation and deterioration in every society. Even so, his work is peppered with beautiful images, filled with personality.

Isolated Building Studies: Revealing Meaning Through Recontextualization is a thought-provoking, sociological project which explores architectural remnants of Chicago’s past. I’m glad that someone has taken the time to recognize the visual impact that buildings like these carry.
